Chapter 1 of Whispers Beneath Hollowmere Is Now Live
After months of writing, building, and rewriting under candlelight (figuratively and otherwise), I’m thrilled to release the first chapter of my Twine game, Whispers Beneath Hollowmere.
This is the beginning of a dark fantasy narrative — part interactive fiction, part myth-in-the-making — that invites you to step into a world where the dead don’t sleep, the gods are remembered wrong, and your name may not belong to you.
Chapter 1: The Dead Do Not Sleep
You play as Maelor, a boy who was never meant to survive — soul-split and marked by a prophecy that even the Veil refuses to speak aloud.
When fire takes the only home you’ve ever known, and the Queen’s knights come to bind your bones in silver, you flee into the ruins of Thareth… and awaken something that has been listening for centuries.
Your choices will shape Maelor’s power, identity, and path forward — though he may never be able to turn back.
What to Expect in Chapter 1:
-
🕸️ Atmospheric, choice-driven dark fantasy
-
🧠 Dialogue and decisions that shape character and world memory
-
🕯️ The introduction of key factions, lore, and the entity known only as the Veiled
-
📖 ~20–30 minutes of playtime
More Chapters to Come
This is the first of four chapters, and I’ll be releasing them progressively — each building on your choices, shaping the world around Maelor, and expanding what the Veil reveals.
Follow the project here on itch.io to get updates as new chapters are released.
Your decisions in Chapter 1 will matter later.
